UK HF Propagation Dashboard – October 2025 Update

It’s been a couple of weeks since I first released the UK HF Predictor, (now renamed Propagation Dashboard), and in that time the project has evolved quite a bit. While the core idea remains the same, blending prediction and observation to give a realistic view of HF band conditions from the UK, several new features and refinements have been added.

The “How does this page work” page has also been updated to include all relevant information on the ideas and methodologies of the dashboard.

I’ve really enjoyed working on this, I’m not entirely sure what is the next logical step, but at least for now, other than tweak the prediction algorithms based on the recorded observational data, I think I’ve gone as far as I can.

A few of the highlights:

  • A new single-band view, making it easier to drill down into what’s happening on a specific band in real time.
  • Cleaner layout and styling, with more emphasis on the data that matters most.
  • More supporting data surfaced on-band cards, giving a clearer sense of what’s behind the scores.
  • Behind the scenes, improved telemetry and analysis is helping refine the model and spot where predictions are drifting.

As before, this is still very much an experiment — I’m continuing to adjust the scoring model and interface based on what the data shows and how people use the dashboard.

If you’ve used the site, I’d really value your feedback:

  • What do you find useful? – if anything!
  • What could be clearer?
  • What might make it more helpful day to day?
  • Is it even accurate?
